TasPGA System Development Notes
Most firmware and software development takes place in the FPGA lab in the physics building. There are two computers with Altium Designer and Xilinx ISE installed. The one closer to the window is a dual-boot machine which usually runs kubuntu linux. This computer is used to develop and test the user interface software that controls TasPGA.
Developing Firmware
All firmware designs are stored on the computer sitting on the middle bench in the FPGA lab. Whenever major changes are made to existing firmware, a new directory is created and the version number incremented. Backups of these design files are burnt to CD periodically.
