VNC

Its probably best to make it display 1 so that its easy for everyone to find. If not, let people know what it is, or you can always do

ps -ef | grep vnc

on host machine to find it.

If you need to kill server ( on display 1), e.g. its frozen up,

vncserver -kill :1

To restart server,

vncserver -alwaysshared

To start viewer on client machine, ( e.g. on newsmerd display 1),

vncviewer newsmerd:1

display 1 usually hobart desktop for IVS monitoring, display 2 for pcfshb e.g.

vncviewer newsmerd:2

Connect to cnsshb machine to see 12 metre drive controls on newsmerd, assuming vncserver running on cnsshb,

vncviewer -shared 131.217.63.225:0
